A couple of friends and I are looking for a good place to hike/camp in Oklahoma or within a 6-8 hour drive from OKC. We are looking for a place that is very secluded. We don't want to run into ANYONE else while out. This is going to be a 5-day trip. We are all military and want to practice and hone our survival and evasion skills. We are putting together bug out bags or survival packs and want to use this opportunity to test each of our systems looking to see what works and what doesn't, what we could leave out and what we need to add. Firemaking is a MUST! The use of firearms for hunting/mock defensive purposes would be nice, though not required. Any ideas? Would be willing and grateful to use private land. Regardless of the location, it would be left in better shape than when we arrived. Timeframe around November or December, 2011. Thanks!
We WANT to go in the winter! That's when the elements are at their worst, and when food and water procurement can be the hardest. We want a challenge. Anybody can go car camping for a few days in March! We are looking for total seclusion, and living off of our backs. I'm not trying to be a jerk, just wanted to give more clarifying details.
