Exotissimo Reveals Life Along the Mekong

Aimed at immersing visitors to the allure, charm and rhythm of Lao riverside life, Exotissimo's Luang
Say Cruise and Kamu Lodge Downstream tour brings the famed Mekong River right to the guests. With
visits to simple civilizations, natural wonders and scenic overnight stays, the program combines Laos'
natural wonders with unseen cultures as well as a pinch of adventure.

The journey begins in Huay Xai, along the Thai-Lao border. Visitors will board a 34-meter traditional-style riverboat, making their way to a hill tribe village before continuing to Pakbeng for some relaxation and downtime.

After some time in the town's market, the boat journey continues downstream to Kamu Lodge, a riverside resort nestled in the heart of a lush jungle. An overnight stay at the lodge offers guests the time to experience the local lifestyles from the wide array of activities available, ranging from rice planting in the paddy fields to forest hiking in search of indigenous herbs.

"Guests will love their stay in Kamu Lodge,? proclaimed Henry Fenner, General Manager of Exotissimo Laos. "It combines jungle ambiance, comfortable living, memorable and educating outdoor experiences to form one fun and memorable experience.?

Sailing further downstream, guests will enter Ban Baw village to discover Lao whiskey production. Next is the mystical Pak Ou Caves, where thousands of Buddha statues await. The pure awe and sheer number of images in the caverns will surely astound visitors. From there, the two hour journey brings visitors nicely to the UNESCO Heritage town of Luang Prabang.
