Open Question: Is one lantern good enough for lighting a campsite?

I am going Reading and late at night once the bands are finished and we all want to have a few beers around the campsite and obviously having some light would be good. How ever kerosene lamps are not allowed for obvious reasons. So I was wondering what kind of lantern would be best to give adequate light for about four to five people to sit around and that would last for a good while?
